The Vision and Plan for 2015 that I responded to recently (part 1, part 2) and mentioned several times is now posted here on Vancouver Public Library's website for anyone who's interested.

Yeah. The problem is, is that we get into a kind of "all or nothing" debate within the profession. If we fight against the book-brand we end up being labelled as book haters. It's an uphill battle, that's for sure.
Is it any wonder that our profession continues to struggle under the stereotype? How about OCLC's study and subsequent assertion that because the world identifies libraries with the "book" that this is the brand that we should continue to use as a symbol for what we do....ugh.
